I am a homeowner and have some problems. I live in NC and have tall fescue grass on lawn. I have some weed that I want to treat and at the same time I want to put down some fertilizer to give the grass a boost since it was looking kinda of brown. Wanted to give it a good green up with the fertilizer. The weeds are also nagging to look at.

Which one should I do first - Weed or fertilize? Can I do Both or is it just one or the other? Is there any brand of weed killer or fertilizer you recommend?

Yellow or light green signals a need for fert in the Northern Fescues here. Browning means lack of water in preparation for dormancy. Weed and feed products have been around a long time. The effectiveness of them is low.

Don't know if you have and lco in your area who will just come in and spray the weeds for you, but that would be the best option in the long term.
