    I have a grasshopper 220 mid-mount mower with a 20 hp Kohler engine. 52" mowing deck.

Can anyone help me with finding a cheaper transmission fluid than the $80.00 a gallon grasshopper fluid.

Grasshopper has introduced a new Hydr-Max fluid pt#345044. We sell it for $54.76 per gallon. Check with you local dealer. They should have it available to you now. Hope this is some help. :usflag:

Use Mobil 1, 15w50. Same oil, but does not have some wear prevention additives that Grasshopper specs. in their own hydro fluid.
I like the Grasshopper brand myself and recommend it. When you look at cost, remember, you are only going to change it once every 5 or 6 years, most likely.
