Wea re constructing a large fountain in the backyard. The catch pond will be concrete and plaster. It will measure 9 ft x 12 ft. At on end will be a 3 foot tall waterfall. The fall will be 6 feet wide.

I think we should be using an external pump for economy of electricity and to pump the large amount of water. Comment?

By my calculation we will nee about 9000 -10000 GPH to power the waterfall. Is that correct? We are thinking a Dolphin "Big Mo".

I think we need one large pump with three inch pipe or two pumps with 32 inch pipe.

I would appreciate any comments on pumps, brand, size, pipes, filters.

I am (hopefully) attaching a drawing of the fountain.
