My sod looks like it has wheat or hay growing in it. It looks like some kind of sprout growing on the tip of the grass blade. Is this a weed I can fertilize?? My grass is nice and green and looks great besides this weed...

    Thanks Kolar

It sounds like annual bluegrass (poa annua) Not a whole lot you can do, the heat and drought of summer will tend to thin it out of your yard.
-Dont fertilize, this will encourage growth.
-Put down a preemergence in late, late summer(early fall) prior to germination and again in spring (check with your county for more precise times for your area)
-Aerify often, poa favors a compacted yard.

Try to learn to live with this weed..if you don't, it will drive you crazy!!!
