I'm looking to do a small part-time start up. I've found a Exmark 48" Turf Tracer HP with 17hp Kaw on it. Comes with a 2-wheel jungle wheels.

It's a 98 model that has ECS conversion, no idea on the hours, although he states very low (around 100). I doubt this, although it does look clean.

What should I look for, and what might this be worth. He's asking $2650.

I'm driving over 4 hours just to look at it tomorrow, but I'm unsure of what to offer price-wise.

    Thanks for any help.

You can get a new one for about $5500 with a two year warranty. Keep that in mind when you make an offer on a nine year old machine.

I've checked ebay, they just don't keep completed auctions viewable for very long.

Would 2k be a deal or a rip off? I understand that might revolve around hours, that just seems to be the biggest problem.

I would go to the service department of your local dealer and ask them what you should at to determine how worn the machine is.

I was able to contact the original owner. He stated that when he traded it in 2 years ago, it had 250-300 hours on it, and that he took very good care of it. It's been sold since then, but it probably still has under 500 hours on the unit total, that would be a good guess. He also mentioned that the dealer only gave him $1500 for it. I'm thinking $2000-2250. Any thoughts? Again, I appreciate all the help, especially since I'm driving 4 hrs to look at it tomorrow. :)
