I have a customer who we are getting ready to start a rather large landscape renovation and she has several large bushes (nelly stevens I think there called) that were planted about 10' from the house back in '92. Well 15 years later the things are severely over grown and the roots are shooting out towards the hous and are trying to grow under. I have tried talking the customer into letting me pull them up and replace them but she wants to try and save them. I can cut part of the root away near the house but the tree might die. The customer asked about cutting part of the root away and placing a few sheets of metal in the ground to shoot the roots in another direction. Any idea's or recommendations are very much appreciated. We were scheduled to start Saturday til the customer brought this up.
