Are prices better online for the Stihl HS-80 than they are at retail stores? If so, any suggestions as to where online I can purchase them. Thank you

I would keep away from lowes and home depot. I agree they have great customer service and the same price as a normal dealer. The problem is the turn around time to get something fixed is about 4x what a dealer is. Not to mention not being able to get a loner or anything to cover you while you are down. JMO belive me I have been through it.

If your looking for Stihl you won't find it at home depot or lowes anyways

I'm considering buying one of HD's rental gas hedge trimmers, but I haven't shopped around yet and I'm not one who would use them a whole lot.

The HDs units are about 1/2 the cost of new and aren't wore out.

Any rental is worn out, that's why manufacturers only warrant for 90 days when used as a rental.
