I have a bermuda sod lawn that has been slowly thinning over the years because the pines in the yard are maturing and covering more and more during the afternoon sun, thus the bermuda is not growing as well anymore.
Since I cant cut down all the pines in the islands in the yard, how can I go from bermuda sod to fescue or something else that would thrive in partial shade conditions. Can I just seed the fescue in? or if I used Zoysia or something else? I live in Georgia and battle the Georgia clay in the yard as well. The bermuda looks worse this year than ever. We have a lawn company that treats it, but even they said the shade is the bermuda's enemy. I dont want to re-sod the entire yard because its a good sized yard.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

thanks in advance for any help.
