I just picked up some new blades for my turf tiger...got them home and out of curiosity, I put them on the blade balancer....2 were fine...1 was way out of balance...I fixed it...no problem now.....has anybody else checked their new blades before installation...just curious.

yeah i had a brand-new blade or two I checked just for kicks and somewhere one or more was off. weird, isn't it?
Far as doing it, the only time it's really important is on Ultra-high rpm mowers like the fixed deck or where your blade-tip speed approaches or exceeds 20,000 fpm (in excess of 200mph). Balancing blades is a type of racing / high-performance application, you can restore a small percent of lost rpm due to off-center blades.

I put a new snapper hi lift blade on my mower and it was vibrating bad! Then I put my ninja back on and it vibrates too. I get the old ninja sharpened and it works great. But what was up with the new hi lift? So these blades can be unbalanced. Can you make the dealer check them first before you leave?
