Maybe I'm late to the party but Ego has a new power head unit......new model number PH1420.
I have many hours on the PH1400, and although very good, it has its definite shortcomings. I used the new model for the first time today and it is seems like they hit a home run with it.
No more cutting out with extra stick out........I ran it to about 25" and no cut outs. I ran it continuously at around 18" on both low and high with no problems.
The trigger is much lighter plus has much better low speed control plus the trigger safety is in a better position.
They added a rubber pad to the top of the motor housing.....a nice addition if you rest the trimmer under your arm while trimming.
Last, but not least, Ego increased the power from 2000 watts to 2300 watts.
