I've got a 2003 NH LS160 right now with ~1200 hours on it, when using it every once in a while (maybe every 5 min or so) it will start to power down on its own for 5 seconds or so then power back up and work fine.

    Any ideas? Clogged fuel filter?

I have an 05 NH 185.B with 1200 hours on it and just had the injectors replaced. It would run rough intermittently, more so when it was warmed up. I would replace the fuel filter first and try and figure it out through a process of elimination. Talk to your dealer's service department most are helpful and will have suggestions for you.

It sounds like a definite fuel problem.

Clogged fuel filter, the debris is getting sucked in and plugging up the out going line, then the engine dies down, and the need for higher fuel pressure goes down, it's a cycle, my T190 always did that every 100 hours.

I had the same problem with my lx565 nh it was the fuel pump it would run when you first cranked it then it would slowly lose rpms and die. I took the pump off and it would pump fuel for a few minutes then quit.
It is an electric in line pump I bought mine at carquest for like 50 dollars same exact pump new holland wanted 150.
