I don't do much sod work but I have patched a few areas here and there. I have a guy that wants me to sod his whole lawn its about 5K sq.ft. and he built his house last year and now his lawn is mostly dirt and weeds. If I decide to sod it what would be the best way to get rid of the weeds before layig out the sod. I can get the sod at wholesale but what should I charge for installation ?

There is alot of info on this subject and it seems people charge different amounts depending on the prep time, grass type and area.

In the metro Atlanta area we charge anywhere from 15 cents a square foot too 30 cents a square foot labor only.

The sod ranges in price (Bermuda) 14 cents a square foot to (Zoysia) up to 30 cents asquare foot material only.

Most here prep with a Harley Rake attached too a peice of equpment.
Just prep the whole area and remove what material is left.
Most warm weather sod will overcome any material left that may Germinate.

    Grading is usually extra.

On that small an area I would charge 1500 dollars labor min plus materials.
You can bag up the left over material and haul to the dump.
I own my equipment so there will be no rentals.

The important thing is too Charge what you need too make money.
