You can't get a manual transmission on the news ones anymore. Unless you buy a Dodge.

We have a 2012 for cc lb with the 6.2 and it's been wonderful. The thing pulls weight like it's not even there and stops short. Even on hills. It's a good work horse for what we do. It pulls around 10k on a daily basis

I wouldn't go with any of the used engines you mentioned besides maybe and I stress maybe the 6.4. I currently drive a 7.3 but that's because I can work on it. The 7.3 are usually pretty simple to fix but they're getting old with the newest one being over a decade old now so I will say it will nickle and dime you to death if you're having someone do the repairs. Also, in your neck of the woods 10 year old trucks are usually pretty rough compared to here where a 10 year old truck could still look brand new underneath. The 5.4 have some pretty serious issues depending on the years. Head gasket issues with leaking oil to the ejection of spark plugs or them breaking off completely on the newer design. I know the bottom ends are not very good either. Again its been a few years since they've built a 5.4 truck now. I have not heard any bad reviews on the 6.2 but I had a 6.7 ford bucket truck for work that pulled a 20k trailer with a mini X and material and never had an issue with it or the other one in our yard. We had some issues with the 6.4 I think it has the shortest production run of pretty much any diesel truck worth mentioning so..... I'm a Ford owner and would only buy another Ford now a days besides maybe a 4.8/5.3/6.0 Chevy they are good engines. I would buy a 6.0 over a 6.4 just my opinion and have it done up right. The 6.0 has some very bad known issues but once those are addressed and no programmer they're very solid engines.

Ive got a 2014 f-250 xl 6.2 and I love it. pulls 10,000 lbs like its not even there. I got the 10,000 gvwr package which is the same gvwr as my 02 f-350 7.3. i dont think you will be dissapointed and I think its way better then the 5.4. I cant wait to plow with it this winter.
