Hello, I just purchased a new 48" Fastrak with 18hp Honda. Worked great the only time I have used it.

    onto my concern...

The guy that went over my mower with me (also the repair tech) told me I should always start and shut down my engine at full RPM, along with engaging the blades at full RPM. He made it sound like that is just the way you treat the Honda. I was wondering what other owners were doing and their thoughts because the Honda manual states that you should idle down. Thanks

Welcome to the Hustler family !!
Different brand engines have different shut down procedures.
I would go by your Hustler owners manual.
As far as engaging the pto clutch, I would get the engine warmed up (the Honda's are cold blooded for sure) and engage the PTO about half to 3/4 throttle, once the engine is hot it will be even easier at the lower throttle position.

Yea, to me the manual gives a more logical procedure. Thanks
