new yard question

    a new house was built across the street and he was told not to fertilize for 6 months. its a st augustine grass is this true?

    It depends. If the sod company fertilized it after they put it down then let it go for a while. If they did not then a good balanced fert. with minors should be applied. I have a friend who owns one of the largest sod companies in the area and he has his crews fert. every one. So do what YOU think is right.

    I usually wait two months if my friend did the job and one month if he did not.

    fertilize as soon as you want with a complete fertilizer. Use high potassium and a slow release nitrogen.
