I don't run a business, but my property is about 8 acres. I don't mow everything though. Started out in 2003 with big dreams, buying such a personal property, ready to tackle it with my brand new 48" Craftsman GT5000. Yeah!
For the next 3 years, I spent almost all my free time cutting grass in the spring to early summer. Went big and bought a Kubota L4740 to help. Used the craftsman when the yard was too wet for the weight of the big boy. If the grass got too tall, the Kubota and brush cutter whacked it down pretty easily. Grabbed a used 11' Land Pride batwing finish mower, which was great for quick mowing when the yard was dry. Not so great mowing around things or when the yard was wet.
Fast forward to this spring and my Craftsman went down, which it has been doing a lot the last few years. It is 13 years old. So I hopped on the Kubota with the finish mower and a gear box blew a seal after a couple loops. Still need to fix that, but managed to get the Craftsman back up and running. In the chaos I decided to finally get a nice zero. I settled on a Deere Z970R. I optioned for the Tweels, because I liked the promotional ads with the less bouncy ride and the seemingly superior ground contact with the tread.
Mower should be in any day now. I came on here to see experiences with the Tweels and didn't see much of anything. So here I am, wish me luck. :usflag:
