    i just put a ad in the paper for one day to see how it goes for sunday it goes out to 600,000 people. I was wounder how you guys might think it will go???

    be prepared to drive all over creation to give estimates. :)

    I try to do targeted advertising (flyers, business cards) to keep my route tight and drive time to a minimum.

    All the new customers I get are within 2 miles of my house, thanks to door hangers exclusively.

    I don't even let my friends hand out my business cards for me. I now tell them NOT to. I am convinced that if I play it right I can work more than I drive.

    See what the others are telling you?

    Keep the route tight. Wasted time and money going all over the place and doing one stops.

    Unless all you are doing is installs.

    We have localized "Yellow Books" and things called "Pennysavers" and "Shopper Guides" Though I don't do the later 2

    What does your ad describe as your services? If it is for mowing, the others are correct, a lot of driving for little jobs. If it is for landscaping, a long drive to get a decent job will usually be worth it.
