No spark on Stihl br450 blower

    Not really, the key in in the flywheel only effects spark timing as if the key is sheared it the fkywheel can shift on the shaft, moving the magnets from their timed location. Technically you should still get a spark but it would be significantly off time and the machine would not run.

    Figured it out by trial and error. Spoke to a Stihl mechanic today and he said the gap for coil should be .004. I had it at .008. Reset to .004 and no spark. .005 and no spark. .006 and it had spark. I’m not a mechanic and figure most of this stuff out by research and trying different things. Never in my life would I have thought that little bit of difference would have ever mattered. Now I know. Thanks for everyone’s input.

    No prob, normally I just use a business card, as it tends to be the correct width to grab both terminals at the same time and seems to be about the right thickness, I wouldn't have though that little of a difference would have made a difference like that. Good Job!

    I agree. Seems crazy to me. I am capable of all sorts of weird crap like this!
