I know this has probably been addressed before, but I couldn't find any information when I did a search for it.
Does anybody know how to handle tax exempt organizations in regards to sales tax in Ohio? I know they do not have to pay sales tax, but do I just not consider them when I pay my sales tax to the state, or do I have to provide some type of proof that the customer is tax exempt?
Thanks for the help, I want to have the right information before I target an account this spring.

They should be able to provide a copy of the tax exempt status.

Line 2 of the UST-1 form is for exempt sales. Don't have the form instructions in front of me, but this is probably where you would record your tax exempt sales. HTH
