Not sure what this is in Bermuda lawn

    Homeowner , new customer of mine, has Bermuda lawn been in decline for some time in a particular spot but working its way through the lawn. Yes it is still firmantes bit she texted me recent pics of what appeared to be immature chinch bugs, a lot of them, in that area. She said other companies had told her she has grub worms. I did some digging in a few spots down to about a foot. I saw nothing in the declined area. However in the area just past the decline area about 3 inches below the turf, the soil is littered with this... Some of it looks like mycelium, others not too sure. I was getting swarmed with crane flies oddly enough. Any help would be appreciated.

    some sort of root fungus?
