i believe we were discussing something about cutting 10 lawns in 4.5 hrs. that thread was deleted. now that the riff raff is gone, id like to continue to explain to the non believers how it is done. you fellows call yourselves "proffesional" lawn services, and cant believe that 10 lawns can be done in 4.5 hrs? please tell me how u survive if u cant do 10 in a little over half a day.

I do 9 yards in 4 hours by MYSELF. Sometimes a bit quicker. 3 different locations, but fairly close. Just think if I had one good helper.....
I can easily do 10 in 4.5 hours. Hustler 60" Super Z and 36" Wright Stander for the backyards.
Well seeing as I'm a day poster only I didn't see the earlier thread but it would depend on size of lawn, trimm time and drive time. If they were all like the one I did this morning and fairly close together then no problem. Drive time is the biggest factor to me if lawns are similar size and trim time, well duh.
bobby--not all rifraf are gone. you and I are still here.;)

why couldn't you do 10 lawns taking 27 minutes each?

size matters. if you got a big'un...no way. if you got a small'un...way. that is sized lawns close together of course.

it is not commonly done at that rate here because we are largely rural with large lots and driving required between each cut.

All about mass production. We've come in at 42 yards(most 5000sq ft.) in 10 hrs. with 2 guys! You have to have a tight route, productive mowers(Walker) and guys that know what to do. Ive had gross sales(mowing) of $1200 in a 10 hr day. Small accounts are the best.....if they are close together...even better!
im with u guys. its easy doin 10 in a half day, but some say u cant do it, i dont get it? me and my guy do 10, and we usually stop for coffee, and even stop home to hug the kids.

I was thinking the same thing.:)
A believer here.........We do ten 1/4 acre lots in less than 2 hours. Record is 16 in 3 hours twenty minutes. By far my most profitable accounts and there only twenty dollar yards. This is for mowing front/back, edging, trimming, blowing with me and one other. Record in one day is 61, 13.5 hours, 2 crews with 3 guys in each.
I can normally do 506,500 Sq/ft in a 12hr day BY MYSELF. Thats 14 lawns. (Thats my Friday route)

Or I can do 690,250 Sq/ft in a 12 hr day BY MYSELF. That is my Big Lawn route, its only 6 lawns JUST ONE next to another, the rest are all seperate drive to and mow.

Well now let me guess................you work solo or with 1 helper?

1 crew does 5 to 6 in an hour. It's all relevent to the size of property and # of men on a crew.
one helper my boy, and hes good as gold. we could easily do 15 a day, but my time is limited.
Heck we knocked off 21 lawns today in 7 hours and 45 mins. We average about 20 lawns a day in an 8 hour time period. Depending on the size, but it can be done
I must be slow as 10 yards which are small would diffidently take me more than a half day. Find it hard to believe that a solo operator can do more than $250 a day with a couple of walk behinds by yourself. What am I doing wrong? Or are half of you full of poop
$250.00 a day? I can do that before lunch with a Murray rider, alone.

What size are you walk behinds? What size are the lawns?
rhett, my lawns average out at about 4.5k. we use 36, 32, 48 walkbehinds, depending on gate size and all. we do 10 without breaking a sweat. i have some routes that ive done myself alone 10 lawns in like 6 hrs. thats grossing around $300. you , $250 , A DAY? A FULL DAY? man, i wouldnt leave my house for that.i made almost that doing one application today, it took 20 min. what r u doing wrong? ummm, too slow, too cheap, who knows.
