This is the official word from the factory on the GateMaster…………I know it is not what you expected, but this is the way it must be done to insure you a quality product……

Since the sneak preview of the GateMaster last July, there have been many, many inquiries as to our production schedule. This memo is intended to clear up these questions.

    Prototype units March/April, 2003
    Demo units July, 2003
Introduction Oct/Nov, 2003 (OPEI and GIE shows)
    Production December, 2003

This schedule will allow us to develop and test the GateMaster.
Plans are to build prototype units in March to test our designs.
From the prototypes, revisions will be made and a small run of approximately 50 units will be produced as demo units for use by the sales force to show to dealers and end users, and also for further testing.
In October and November, these new machines will be making their public debut at both the OPEI and GIE trade shows.
In December, we will be in full production for the Spring, 2004 season.

Those LS members that responded to a request by PWM (Paul Mullet, President of Excel/Hustler) to test the GateMaster will be contacted when we are ready for you to test the unit.

    P.S., here is a pic or 2........:D :D :D

Now that is nice! I wish I was on the testing team:( Just how wide is the deck on the unit? Or maybe it will be made in different sizes.:D :D That would be extra nice.

PJ- I dont remember if I asked you this before or not... but can this mower be put on a trailer in the "up" position? It might be worth buying just for the room on the trailer, nevermind getting through gates!

It's a top notch idea for sure. If it handles on hills it will be great! I was looking forward to seeing them at the dealers THIS spring.

It's probably just as well though. If it's anything like the other Hustler prices I've gotten, retail on it will be more than I'm willing to spend for a 48" walkbehind of any sort.

I'm going to make a prediction that retail here will be well over $6,000.
