OH NO; I BOUGHT A FORD!

Just bought a Ford F700 truck w/ 429 engine, 11' coates revisible plow and 2 way dump box w/ spreader unit. Although the box had alot of surface rust (which we're having blasted and painted) everything's in really good shape.

This is my first Ford and I'm on my prayer rug every night hoping it doesn't break down on me at 3a.m. during a blizzard. The engine is tight, the plow has duct tape on it (seriously) and it used to be a city truck. Anybody ever operated or owned something like this?

What year is it? I have owned several older Ford medium duties, F 700s and 800s. As for the restore, I would get it up and going for this season. Then next summer when you have more free time, I would suggest going right through it, repaint everything.

This winter I will be refurbing, my equipment trailer, rather than buy a new one.

Iowa,

Does it look like this one? This is an 87. I drove it from day one, for the first 2,000 (city) miles of it's life. It too was a town truck. I loved it, and you all know I am a Chevy guy.

It had electric brakes.

. . .guess it would help if I mentioned the year. It's an '89. I was going to wait until summer, but I really don't like to show up at my customers with any equipment that doesn't look professional. The truck itself is very tight, but the rust on the white dump box looks really bad. Luckily, it'll be done in a day or two and will then be ready to go. Ford jokes aside; I think it's going to be a great truck and probably stay in our fleet for many years.
