Just picked up this power rake for $150...It looks to be in good shape and it runs but could use a carb cleaning ..no big deal..anyone know anything about these ? Its a Parker 5.5 Brigs...Good deal, bad deal?

thats not a briggs, its a tejunksa off of a snowblower, so it has no air filter on it, it'll be junk in no time unless you put a filter on it.

Holy crap that thing has about 30 fewer blades than my Yard Marvels. You may want to add a few before using that thing.

Your right !!! I dont know why I said brigs..
my snow blower has the same motor on it...lol I can add a filter to it...or just change the whole motor...I can get a nice Honda motor for it cheap.....

Ahhhh, How about that now..? 8hp Briggs...told you it had one :laugh: Had this spare motor laying around..I knew it would fit when I bought the power rake...I wanted a Honda but since it fits perfect,Ill keep it on...

nice find. Thats an great price. I personally love parker power rakes. I got two of them but with the Spring tines instead of the metal fails. I like it better with the spring tines. Good Luck with the machine should last you a long time.

Great deal! I have one almost exactly like that, got mine for $200. For as much as I use a power dethatcher, there is no way to justify a new one.

mine just usually needs a good carb cleaning and it'll run good....try it...
Wow...Now that thing make mine look new !!! lol I would still buy it and repaint and sell it for more...nice find:waving:

I've totally rebuilt the carb on mine, new gas new fuel line and filters. Everything I can think to do and I can't get the thing to fire.
