Ok well the title says it all, I blew my engine on my Toro Zmaster, my question is where can I buy a cheap replacement? I have looked everywhere and im just not able to pay 2k for an engine. Maybe a used one would be great. Thank you to anyone who replies to this thread with usefull information.

check into just getting a long block and use your old heads, intake, carb, and pulleys etc I think a long block for a kohler 27 is like 800-900 when i checked into one for mine

Check Northern Tools. I don't know where in FL you are, but we have them here on the East Coast. ... if not, I think

Get your model and engine family number, along with the horsepower rating, go to, and track down your local Kohler dealers in your area. And, like the man said, Northern Tool is agood spot to get an engine. Not sure if you can get a long or short block there, but worth a try. Plus, if you get a new engine or block through Kohler, it should have some warranty. Piece of mind. Good Luck !

By the way, what do you think caused the engine to blow? Was it like me, too many hours? Ha Ha You might want to find out if possible, so you can adjust your routine maintenance plan if necessary

Wheeler, don't buy just any motor, Toro and Exmark buy so many engines that the ones they do buy are designed specifically for their tractors. In other words get the one thats meant for your tractor and life will be good.
