They're really popular in the generators of motor homes.

JD used to run them in most of their 15-20 hp AC tractors.

    The Toro GM220 had them.

    - I think they were the tops in the '80's and haven't kept up with the technology of the bigger name brands.

    I've got a 1990 Toro 724-Z that has a 24 HP. Onan engine.

The thing won't quit! It uses no oil and still has great power.

After 13 years little things are going to go wrong, but I think I got my moneys worth!!!

I still use this mower in the business.

    Onan is a great engine!:D :D :D

I had a 16 Onan on an older toro 42 ztr. When the motor(16 hp) when bad at about 1200 hours ,I replaced it will a 20 hp. I sold the mower over three years ago. The mower is falling apart around the motor.
