I have narrowed my choices on a new ztr down to an exmark laser hp or a gravely 148 xdz. The exmark has a 19hp kawasaki and 46" deck. The gravely has a 21hp kawasaki with 48" deck. The exmark is $1,000 cheaper. Both dealers will take care of me, which is why i have narrowed it down to these choices. Thanks for your time and opinion.

hard to say. money sounds good on the exmark, but the 2hp more on the gravely sounds good. are you going to bag, mulch, or discharge? might help the decision some...

Thanks for the replies. I do plan on mulching, but I have not ruled out the bagger.

Ditto on the Exmark. Both are good machines. Exmark leads the industry. Not the perfect mower, but no one has invented the perfect mower yet!!

I shopped for too long and decided there was a reason soooo many ran exmarks. good solid machine..eXMARK 52' 23 hp Kohler lazer ZHP I'm sure the gravely has its + points and its just a matter of making the plunge IMO. what I found is there is NO perfect machine and for the $$ they cost they should come with a driver but they are money makers and they know it!

I run this mower with the bagger. Love the mower but the blower for the bagger pulls hard on the 21 horse. The mower cuts great with the Gravely blades bagging or discharging. I have a set of Gators and I am not impressed with. I have tried mulching and discharging with them and I do not like the cut. I have also tried mulching with the Gravely blades and not real impressed with them either. I do not have the mulching baffles just the blocking plate. This could be the problem mulching. Long story short. Great mower. Could use more horses for bagging.
