    Does anyone know offhand...
Can you run Opti-2 synthetic in Stihl handhelds, like the KM90 and the like?
I know I can look myself, just am shooting off this question off the top of my head.

I run it in mine. No problems.

Soon as I run out of my Stihl mix bottles I have a gallon of that stuff already
in stock, waiting to go, but I did order the special pump that pre-measures the
amount that comes out per squirt.

Stupid little hand pump wasn't cheap, but I can't see doing without.
Even with that and the shipping thou, it appears a ways cheaper to run Opti-2.

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys...I will plan to use Opti-2 then.
I buy it in the pouches and just have a bunch on hand to shoot in my 1 gal mix tank.

Opti-2 is not and never has been a synthetic oil.

That's right. But it's excellent oil, nonetheless. And you can run it in anything.

Just make sure your sthil is out of warranty. The warranty terms specify you use synthetic oil.

Also you'll get more carbon build up with any petro oil.

Isnt Opti-2 advertised as a third generation oil?

All I know about Opti-2 is that I have been using it in all my hand helds and snow blowers for 2.5 years and haven't needed to replace a plug or clean a exhaust port. Runs great, pouches are easy/clean to use, and the exhaust doesn't smell. I don't care if it's synthetic or dino it works great.
