 last week a guy helping me was string trimming and walked over to me with blood running down his leg. he was wearing shorts and it seem he fed out too much line and tached up the trimmer to cut off the excess. when it cut free, it slung a piece about 3" long into his shin. in, under, and back out about an inch and a half later. it was sticking out each end! i've never seen anything like it. i know it hurt, but we laughed awhile. then wed. afternoon, i had the privilege of walking over to him with a piece of mulch stuck in my leg. only the tip though. not too funny on the other side. ouch!! i hope thats the last of that.

I'm going to be starting to use strap chaps.

They reduce injury A LOT and they are very inexpensive.

My wife has a cousin in Virginia that cut his lower leg while trimming in shorts with the trimmer line. It got infected and to make a long story short, he eventually lost his entire leg and his buttock on the same size. He now is in a wheel chair.

A pair of long pants would have averted this sad outcome.

I go home every night after trimming with cuts and scraps on my legs. I choose to wear shorts, so I toughen up because it is part of the business.
