want to get one and want to know what's best
if there's other's let me know
Gravely and Lastec are 2 more very nice out fronts.
Few have tried the brand new Walker Super B, so if this poll is taken 5 years from now, the outcome would be a lot different.
We have been a Exmark dealer for almost two years. We have sold near 20 Front Runners
our customers absolutly love them. Four of them that I know of have Grasshopper and now would take the Front Runner any day of the week. Better cut with the Ultra cut deck, better traction, and very reliable unit. Top notch unit I cant beleave they are not talked about more often.
How does the height adjustment work on the frontrunner---do you just raise/lower the deck until the dial is reading where you want it and it stays there, or is there a pin or stopper that you set (like most midmounts)
In my opinion the best setup for a frontmount is an even weight match between the front deck and the motor out back---this allows the machine the hold a side slope even better than a conventional midmount.
Yes the gauge is on the left side ontop of deck, and adjust to the height you wont.It does stay where you leave it.

The only front cuts I see are the grasshopper and Encore! I have tried both of them and for what you get I would go with encore!
We now have a "Fleet" of three Grasshopper outfronts,
the newest being a newly aquired, lightly used 722D
Kubota L/C Diesel!
I love the "powerfold deck" for changing blades easily.
Our first two Grasshoppers (Kubota L/C Gas) have provided a combined 25 years of service, and they both still run and mow great!
