Does anyone in here do lot sweeps? I would LOVE to know how these guys in the sweeping trucks charge. We just use blowers, (Part of the grounds maintenance) but don't do many accounts of this. Any input?

RUNNER, I know we got pretty deep into this one a couple months back, and a couple of us went pretty deep into the different process's. As far as a truck sweeper, We run TYMCO sweepers mounted on IH 5 ton Cab and Chassis'. They are very expensive to maintain!!! and a lot of work to keep running right. There is definetly good money in it, at malls and shopping plaza's, etc, but you'd have to work some late or really early hours. There are also many citys back east that sub out spring street sweeping to get up all that winter sand. Its a definite money maker in some areas.
But do a search and try to find our old post.
One more thing, I saw a neat sweeper that fits in a pick up truck bed in one of my lawn and landscape mag's this month. I sent for some info on it just for kicks. If you want it, I can get you the # or web site for the company. Just drop me an e-mail.

----------
<a href=";>"Guido"</a>
David M. Famiglietti

retail are big on this for small lots use a back pack and a vac billy goat has the top of the line...doesnt blow dust into the operators face and you can empty it like a mower bag its a good add-on service

If you have enough work for it then you should look at a
Tennant 265 or 275 or Advance sweepers. Over here the truck
mounted sweepers are making about $140 p/h (AUD) or about
$100 p/h USD. Like Dave said though they are VERY expensive
    to maintain.

You may want to pretend to be a PM and call a couple of sweeping companies to get an idea of the pricing....then look at your labor, travel, equipment, etc cost and provide a price.

Thanks Guido! Had I known he was from down under!!! lol and thanx for the idea, Bill, but doesn't that teeter on that "ethic topic we were discussing somewhere before? I guess I COULD get a price as a "sub contractor".....
