When you guys are laying pavers as a pool deck, what method or approach do you take when dealing with the skimmer?

We have tried a new approach on this last one, to make it more aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound, however, I am always looking for a better way.

    Any ideas are appreciated.

we pour portland cement with a dye to try and get the color close. we then trowl in lines to simulate pavers.

the channel that extends from the skimmer lid to the edge of the pool is not very strong. it cannot support the weight of the paver and someone standing on it. this is why we use cement.
