I am doing a project for an older couple. And they want pavers on there existing concrete patio and an extension onto the surrounding ground.

Part of there patio is covered and other half is not, but will be in near future. the patio is 13'x33' and the extension on the ground they want is 11'x33'.

    My question is.....this...

Is it ok to just place the pavers directly onto the concrete patio. I have heard of this before. You glue the outer edges and just place the others within...and then filter your sand down. They are so worried that it wont stay....and they are wanting a mortar or similar to hold it....but i have never heard of doing that with pavers...and + i have heard that you can just place them directly on the existing concrete......

Help on this will be much appreciated...thanks so much ....

Try a search, I'm sure you'll find a 'few' threads on the subject..............not that I would know.
