I just signed up for PayPal and I'm trying to figure out how to set up the invoices. With other platforms I've used in the past I would create an invoice template and apply a sales tax rate as well as a credit card fee. This way any time Id start an invoice those fees were just automatically applied. With paypal though it seems I have to manually click on the line item every time to select sales tax. Whats even more frustrating is that there doesn't seem to be anyway to add a separate processing fee.

Yeah just “why” when there are so so many different ways to do this. Imo stay away from PayPal but I get it I took a few payments through them so I get it it seemed easy and why not.

I would recommend doing away with all the "fees" and just include those into your price. No need to nickel and dime. I find that makes people uncomfortable kinda like ordering a $2 coffee and then getting asked to add a tip. That's everywhere we go these days and people are getting fed up with added fees. Not that they don't want to pay them just seeing them everywhere. Stripe is 2.9% plus a .30 cent transaction fee. I just add $5 or whatever to the price.

Then your 2.9% fee is higher due to your charge being $5 more.

i do that because my default payment method is either check or ach. i don't mind including the 1% fee for bank transfers but i'm not doing that for credit card charges and dont feel its fair to include a credit card fee into my prices if people choose to pay by bank transfer or check.
