Does anybody have any experience with using a payroll service to pay their employees? I've been in the irrigation business for 8 years now and recently bought out a residential lawn business with 75 weekly accounts. I have 3 full time employees now and would like to provide them with benefits if it's not too costly. I've heard that payroll copanies aren't too expensive.

I've been using paychoice for the past year and paychex for a few years prior to that. Paychoice only charges you a flat monthly rate if you enter the employee times every pay period which is more cost effective than charging every pay period like paychex does. Paychex did have employee benefits but if I were you I would contact your insurance broker and go from there. Also, professional organizations for contractors and landscapers such as planet or the home builders association often offer employee benefit plans through their affiliates at discounted rates.
