I have a shindaiwa. Its one of the most handy pieces of equipment I own.
I also have an FS85 with 4 attachments. You'll love it!
I got the same one, had carb problems since new. 4 years later I still make them warrenty the carb.

Wait till you get the chain saw for it, you will love that one.

well i already have an ht75 pole pruner with a chain saw and artic hedge trimmer attachments for it, and that thing kicks -----.
i wanted the fs85 to be an inbetween for the hs85 and the ht75, used ita little while ago to trim a hedge that is about 60-70ft long 6-7ft high and 3ft wide.... saved almost a half our's time from doing it with the hs85.still used a ladder but got the whole top from one side instead of reach from both sides.

lgf, ive had my ht75 for about 4 years,, and knock on wood havent had any carb problems......
How long do those chains actually stay sharp on the saw attachments??

last pretty long, as long as you dont hit anything but wood, lol
Now THESE things are a real worksaver! I reach for my exended Stihl forst, before I even grab a regular hedgesaw. Just makes the jobs so much easier, faster, and better. By better, I mean it sems you can actually do a better job because your looking at the shape from a further away perspective.;)

I was going to get the HT 75 pole pruner but the dealer told me I can't put the Hedge trimmer atachment on it. Can you tell me little more about the artic trimmer atach you got for the HT 75?
I bought the Deere EH2659 (59" pole) hedge trimmers about a month ago and they have been great! You made a wise purchase. The extended reach is going to save you alot of time and energy (on the bigger stuff anyway).

Boy you are full of it brainiack......

Those same hedge clipper will come off and you can put a saw or edger or string trimmer had on.

It has a square shaft end. loosen 2-4 torks bolts and it comes right off.

These are not the split shaft no tools required ones. So in a sense, they are attachment series tools.

What is it You Don't Understand?

I don't Use Attachments on Any Pole Tool. I prefer to have Designated Units be it Saw, Hedger, Trimmer. I don't Care if you can put a Toaster on the End by removing Bolts. My Articulating Hedge Trimmers Stay Articultaing Hedge Trimmers.
Mmmmmm.......toast.

Why do you put a toaster on there?

It's not that I don't under stand, it's that you are incorrect again.

I don't give a rats behind what you do with your biz, but posting the illimformation you do all the time, some one has to explain that it is incorrect.

Those same trimmers you have, have interchangabe heads. And it is an attachment series tool.
I bought one last year and like it also.I think you're dead on about being able to see your work better especially on large shrubs.i haven't had any trouble from mine.Nice purchase;I can't see getting a dedicated unit for this operation;we service several accounts and use this about 60 hrs a year; the rest of the time it is a backup weed eater.I don't see this as a conventional split boom unit since that is not what it is competing against. It's not a split boom.
LGF you seem to know a bit about these changable heads.
Can I stick hedging atach on a ht75?
Should, dealer showed me 3 models all the same head, the 85 had the most power so I got it.

Same day My Echo mid shaft pole trimmers got ran over by an SUV 10' off in the grass. I had to get one quick to finish the job, the customer paid for them.
The Attachment Series Has a Split Shaft for easy Changes. You can Make up Names for the Designated Solid Steel Mainshafts until the Cows Come Home But they are Still not part of the Multi Task or Attachment Series Tools.
