I have been fighting a major lawn renovation project since the last week of March.

When the new KBG lawn just started to look good the crabgrass hit me extremely hard.

I tried 2 different types of crabgrass control herbicides from Lowes but they did not contain enough “Q” Quinclorac.

Thus, I traveled 35 miles to purchase 64oz of Momentum with 8.25% of “Q” for $93.00.
It has been only 5 days since I spot sprayed the entire container of Momentum & most of the crabgrass is DEAD.

Check out these pics which shows the effect of “Q” had on the crabgrass

The lawn looks terrible with the dead crabgrass!

    What do I do now?

Fertilize now & hope the KBG can fill in the bare spots then plug & over-seed in Sept.?

The last pic does not look so good, the others look fine.

Bottom line, it is summer there is not much you can do. Just the way it is.

Might want to power rake it if you need something to keep you busy, get all that dead vegetation out of there. DO NOT aerate, you will bring the crabgrass seeds to the surface.

If you can handle watering about 4x a day you can try to overseed, but the odds of it coming out right are slim.
