Jim - you must stop being so helpful. I think the length of each thread has decreased since you started helping everyone :waving:

Seriously, you rock. Can't wait to meet you and learn from you someday.

The gardener is who got me in there. That garden is huge if you look at the link to google maps I posted you can see. I work with them on a few properties. They are a husband and wife operation, great people.

I come from a land of windmills.

Thanks for the info. I didn't't need to find any today so I didn't't try too hard but when I do I will do what you suggest.

I am originally a Dutch national, we invented them...Windmills that is. (Actually born in Surabaja Indonesia when we were still colonialists... ah yes the good old days when we called hem WOGS and they were cheap... now we call them future democrats) where do you hail from... or is it Michigan.

Remeber God created heaven an earth, but the Dutch created Holland!

Nice site by the way, one of the reasons I love working in S. Florida. It's beautiful.

Pardon my ignorance...but wouldn't windmills catch more air if a fabric or material of some sort were on the blades?

Seems to work well for aircraft.

You brought up one of my pet peeves. Wind mills only have the sails up when they are in operation much like a boat. You don't want it spining all the time. My peeve is when I see in movies or windmills for decoration with the blades turning with no sails
