I know I may be asking a lot, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I was hoping some one out there has photos of lighting adobe Arizona style architecture. I have a prospect that is building a very elegant adobe Arizona style home. I would like to show them lighting examples for their new home and landscape. I promise I won't take credit for them. It is a long shot request but what the heck.

One thing I noticed from the pictures I see on site here and from some of the lighting specialists web sites is that you guys do a lot of lighting on the homes themselves. We just don't feature the architecture much, its not typical here. Nothing too exciting about flat smooth walls with no overhangs. Since the use of stonework in the last 10 years there has been something more to work with. That is not the traditional adobe you are asking about though. Lighting trees, cacti and boulders or casting shadows on the walls is more typical. My brother-in-law does work on mostly desert type homes I will ask him if he has any night shots.

Most of the homes around here have no landscaping so we are left with lighting the home only. Sometimes we get lucky with a mature landscape, but not too often. Most all of the million dollar plus homes around here look like they ran out of money before they could get to the landscape and there may be a couple small trees some shrubs and a lot of grass. Pretty boring.

    AZ Gardner,
Thanks for the reply. I was thinking re: architectural lighting for the adobe style homes that one would want to at least do some wall washing or up lighting on the outside walls to create some ambient light around the architecture? I am going out the the site on Monday I will take some pics to show everyone. If I get this project I guess I can get everyone's imput on the best approach.

Those are pics of excatually what I have here except I don't know what kind of vegetation I will have to light? Our environment here in SE Washington State is desert but no cacti and other South West flora. AZ Gardner I see what you mean by casting shadows on the walls vs. architectural lighting. Cast's website helped me get a better idea what to do. I can't download their pics to show my prospect, so if someone has pics to share I would really appreciate it. Thanks for the feed back and interest

I don't know how others feel but I think it would be unethical to use manufacturer photos to sell a job that will benefit another manufacturer. Maybe you are using cast so it wouldn't be an issue but if you are not you should really go to the manufacturer that's product will be used for help. That's only right. Why should Unique's photos be used to sell Kichler and vice versa? It's no good.

Ned I have some pics from our southwest development. Our pool house has a kiva that is stone, but the pool house itself is an adobe look. PM me your email address and I will send you some to see if you can use them.
