I want to intergrated brick pillars into an aluminum fence that will be installed on one of my jobs. What width pillar would you go with? 18in or 24in?

This is standard 52in tall gerith aluminum fence. Going to do every 3 or 4th fence post a pillar.

I'm bidding a very similar project right now and I'm using an 18" sq. pillar. I think the 24" sq. might be too big, but then again if you are building a column 52" tall you might be better off with the 24"

Matt, I'd have to agree with the 24" pillar being in better scale at 52" high. The 18" might look ok if you were replacing every post, but the greater size of the 24" will give more of a column feeling when spaced as you had suggested,

24" at least. I can't stand pillars that are tall and skinny. I would also measure the whole run of the fence and decide how many pillars you wil have and where, otherwise it might look funky if they are not evenly spaced.
