I get it for
3.80 plus tax then I add 3.00 for the labor.
Of course it depends on the type of Pine Straw. For the Ga long leafs that I get for 2.99 a bale, I charge 6.00...
Here I have to pay between $3.50 and $4.00 a bale. I charge $8.00 a bale installed.
Has anyone else noticed a great variance in the size of bales? It seems everytime I order straw, the bales are a different size depending on who it comes from. Home Depot bales seem to be the only consistent size, but are overpriced for the size and the quality is the worst.(3.25) Had some delivered last week for 2.75/bale, good color, very few sticks, no old matted junk in it, but the bales were kind of small. What is the most common size you folks are seeing? Next time I get some I'll measure it and post the dimensions. It makes it really hard to estimate how much I'll need if the bales are inconsistent in size.
I charge exactly the same and still have to put up with the homeowner's indignant ?'s about my high pricing
If you guys come out here you can have all you want for free. I probably have about 200 ponderosas and have burned enough this year to fill up the back of an 18 wheeler. We just can't get rid of it fast enough.
Funny... one website I looked at concerning starting a pine straw business, mentions selling it at $8.00 per bale. That doesn't sound like the going rate, and sure doesn't sound like it would be a profitable undertaking.
Hey Aleman or for that matter anyone on the east coast,
Who is your supplier for mulch at 2.99 a bale? I need 500 bales delivered to central NC. don't want to have to pay 4.00 each. Thanks for any information you can supply!
I've definitely noticed a difference in the size of the bales-Home Depot being the most consistent and the freshest-Lowes are smaller and seem to be anything but fresh and have mildew and matted straw inside the bales. I'm paying 3.25 @Depot
I got some at HD last week and it was awful. Sticks and matted. Poor color(faded looking). Never again!
I pay on the average $3.25 per bale and I charge $7.25 installed.
