This has pretty taken over a customers yard this year. I've seen it before but not sure of the name of it and therefore do not know how to treat it. Can someone help identify this and also suggest what can be used to kill it? Thanks in advance.

Prograss (ethofumesate) will control it very well. It is expensive. I'd probably go with the pre-emergent, but that wont touch the plants that you have growing. If the customer wants it gone now, Round-up and re-seed or re-sod it. Most people just deal with it and treat it as regular grass. Growth regulators will also work good to suppress seedhead production.
