What's your formula for figuring the yards?

If they are paying for the mulch and delivery themselves, I would say $35 a yard to install. That comes out to be $560 for 16 yds (1700 sq ft at 3" depth).

Don't forget to factor in time for cleaning the beds up and edging. That will probably take longer than spreading bagged mulch if you say they are bad.

    Soil, Mulch Formula

    Length (Ft) X Width (Ft) X Depth (Fraction of a foot)= answer/27(Cu. Ft./ Yard)

    The fraction of a foot: 12" = 1, 6" = .5, 3" = .25, 1.5" = .125

    Hope that helps!

    Glad to help.

Yeah, 3" is the usual depth to install mulch. If the existing mulch is in good condition of gone 2" deep.
