Hello, once again, could all of you seasoned professionals tell me what you would charge to mow, weedeat, edge, and blow this church. It is the one with the white roof. The property lines are the street at the top of the image, the street to the right of the image, the playground in the back, and the fence to the left. I asked him what he thought about $300 and all he would tell me was that I was way off. He wouldn't tell me if I was too high or too low, but I get the idea it was too low because he kept saying it is not hard to mow, it is just time consuming.

I know a lot of you will say just price it by how long you think it will take, but since i've never done a property this big, I don't have a clue as to how long it will take.

Thanks for all the good advice.

My best advise, bid on it the best you can. If you're off, live and learn, if you're right on the money and get it, live and learn. Your price IS way off.

You might ask him how long it normally takes and what size equipment was used, then you can get an idea. I can't tell squat from the picture. Do you have a 60" mower to compete, it would make a big difference if your on a smaller mower too?

ya we need some more info. Do you have a big mower? Were you offering 300 a mow or 300 a month? I would bid what you feel is right. But most of all be upfront with them. Tell them your bid and ask for feedback if you dont get it. You will never know why you didn't get a bid if you don't ask. Do you know the approx sq ft? Also be careful with churches, my personal experience is when you go to church they always are asking you to donate because they don't have enough for their budgeted expenses. This equals late payments, pain to deal with sometimes.

Other than the area to the right, all the other areas are fairly small, if you're using a 60-72" mower ZTR.

It looks fairly flat from the satellite image.

I see 2 - 2 1/2 hours of work, $125 - 175 / cut.

It is almost impossible to give a bid over the internet, and without actually walking the property to see what the lay out is. An overhead view doesnt really give a good snapshot of what the terrain is like, but Im guessing its fairly flat. Just curious how you came up with the $300 bid? What did you base this on? I am also assuming they want it weekly no matter what all season? I only say this because sometimes with churches, a member will sometimes mow it themselves thinking they are helping you out! Usually older people with lots of time on their hands will do this. I would simply compare it to the other smaller yards you used to estimating and figure out how many of these yards would "fit" into this church property and form your bid that way, or just measure it.

Look at each section of grass and figure how long it would take to mow and trim each section. Treat each area as its own lawn.

Add up all the time, and you have your answer. It's grass cutting, it's really not that hard.
