I have a pita customer that has a bunch of rock beds with bushes in them and she wants us to pick the weeds weekly, She will not let us use any kind of weed control. I recommended preen after we picked the weeds in the initial clean-up. Is there any spray I could use to kill off the weeds without killing the bushes that is environmentally safe. I know this is probably a no. But I thought I would turn here for help. Thanks ..Is there any weed killer that would be recommended for what I'm looking to do if I can get her to agree

Preen is one direction that you thought correct.

These are the staples I use..................But the question of credentials will always come up. Are you licensed to purchase any of these products from a supplier and apply it? Taxes is subject to use in some states.

Well that's the other problem. I'm not licensed and here in Illinois you don't need a license to get preen. But that's why I was asking and yes btw I follow all local and state, federal taxe laws and I'm a proper business and insured.

U can buy it I'm sure but applying it I would be willing to bet is a no no unless u own the property.

    Sure about that? http://www.agr.state.il.us/Environment/Pesticide/training/commappl.html

Most states don't require a license to purchase its the whole applying part that will get you in trouble, including Illinois.

Knowing what I know and have seen from other people's mistakes, I would be concerned about someone spraying around ornamentals. She is rightfully concerned about the misuse of RoundUp and other products that can be harmful to shrubs. Think Green gave you some good products to use. I use Reward around ornamentals. My favored weed preventers include Ronstar FLO and Sureguard in addition to the ones he named. Know the plants you are treating around and what kind of weeds you are trying to control.

Regal star is ronstar plus prodiamine granular. It's in a ureaform to ensure slow release. We use in all our beds . Just an idea

How big of a deal is it to pull weeds on a weekly basis??? Sounds like an opportunity for easy money to me... 4 weeds this week and 2 weeds next week for the same pay... people who are uptight about chemicals are willing to pay for their paranoia... :)
