Are any licenses needed to treat ponds with algecides and other pond chemicals in the state of TX? What about general pond maintenance? I am talking ponds from a few hundred gallons in size to several acre ponds. Or is it un-regulated?

I would check the TX dept of Agriculture website. Or just give them a call. They should be able to answer any questions you have.

There is a category of Aquatic Pest Control under the TDA Commercial Applicators licensing categories and there is a license for Aquaculture. So I'd say yes it is regulated by the state.
Sounds like fun work, and a good excuse to buy a small boat.
