I had a home builder call today for a quote on preparing the yard for sod. Right now its just the foundation cleache and weeds. No top soil. Should I just spray the entire property with weed killer and applie top soil? Any help would be appreciated.

What about final grading? Make sure there are no areas where the ground slopes towards the house. I f there are any areas where the ground slopes towards the house and you lay sod over it you will be held liable for any water damage to the house from that area. The insurance company will go after the last person to touch the soil. Builders in this area never leave landscapers with a finish graded seed or sod bed.
