Sometimes double cutting once a week is easier to fit into the schedule than cutting twice a week.

Here's a few double cutting tips.

1 Set your height of cut to what you actually want it at. Then cut it the first time.

2 If possible let the clippings sit out to dry in the sun for a bit. They'll disperse better if they are drier.

3 Set your height of cut a quarter to a half inch higher. Then cut it the second time. Doing this lets the second cut disperse clippings only vs additionally cutting off.
more grass.

4 your second cut should be a different pattern than your first
Same advice I got years ago and it’s good. However, I’ve been doing it differently the last few seasons, and I’ve been getting better results. I double cut in transport now and the ONLY potential issue I’ve encountered is speed - I feel like the deck bounces a touch more for my liking if I go too fast.

I also cut the exact same pattern/direction for my double cut. Makes your stripes pop way better.
