Don't laugh, I get all my mail pretty late being overseas. Just got the July/August issue of Pro magazine yesterday. I read it last night and this morning and I was really impressed with it.

Its the first time in a while in these trade magazines that I get that there were 4 or 5 long articles that really made some great points and made me think of ways to improve the time it takes to do regular everyday tasks. It was all about systems and finding ways to do things faster and get more productive crew's,etc.

I think its a great idea that biz's do this because its a great way to increase profits without investing a ton of money on equipment and/or expanding.

    Anyone else read these articles??

i read them, good reading. I'm not that organized , probably never will be+ that's fine w/ me. But good ideas in there you could use as your base of running adjusting for your own needs. The last couple months Pro seems to be increasing these types of articles.

I think that CLIP is a big money player with PRO magazine and they sponser they're forum I believe and bring in some big names like Vander Kooi, etc. Well Compass systems is now partnered with CLIP, so maybe thats why its getting a push in the magazine. Either way they were great articles!

I don't know about the strobe lights and the bells whe loading up the trucks in the morning, but they said it works for them!

Never heard of pro magazine. Is this online or printed publication. I am a subscriber to "fine homebuilding" and feel this is the ultimate magazine for the industry, it carries ads, how to's, instructional diagrams, basically everything a pro or advanced and enthusiastic diy'er would want. Now, is there anything remotely close for our industry out there?

I'm not saying that there isn't, but I haven't found one yet, and I believe wuth 4000 people we would have heard about it by now. There needs to be a paid subscription magazine for our industry though to consentrate on the meat and potato's and loose some of the ads.

Here's a list of trade publications, theres more, but these are the popular ones. They're all free, and you can sign up online.

They also have the mags online for viewing while your waiting to get yours!

    Turf Magazine

    PRO Magazine

    Lawn and Landscape

    Grounds Maintenance

    Landscape Management

    Irrigation Journal

    Heavy Equipment News

    Hope this helps!

That's a good site, but not an industry related magazine. I'd list some of the other good web sites but I can't because I'd be breaking the LS posting rules. Most of them have message boards also, however they have very little or zero traffic.
