Echo SRM PAS 225 about 3 years old. Idles fine but boggs out on accelleration. I cleaned spark plug, air filter and exhaust port. When I adjust the choke half way it runs better and revs up nicely but not as it should. Any ideas.

You should also let your equipment warmup for about 5mins. every morning.

Mine was doing that and I had to take the muffler off and clean the carbon out.. But it was becuase my helper was running it at half throttle... I told him to always run my equipment at WOT... He's a new guy learning the ropes...

Make sure your fuel line in the tank isn't cut. Debri can get pass the fuel filter and clog the screen inside the carb. Every Echo I've owned have always had carb issues. Try installing a new one...don't waste your time rebuilding it.

There's a pinhole in the diaphragm in the carb. Replace it or the carb and your problem is over assuming it isn't any of the above mentioned problems.

You run your trimmer at top speed? I bet the rocks in the face don't feel good. And do you break out many windows? I have the same exact problem w my echo trimmer, btw

I rarely have my trimmers at WOT. There's no need to waste the fuel OR take the risk of something flying from the trimmer and taking out a window. Sounds like you might take a few lessons from him.

Spark arrestor? All my Echo's have them. One is 15 years old. Had to replace the carb on it that's it. 80:1 Amsoil the entire life and never once had any build up of carbon.

If its 3 years old and you've already cleaned the carb, changed plug and air filter I would try the muffler. When theyre not run at WOT carbon builds inside the muffler ports and they can breathe. Take the muffler off and hit it with a butane torch for a few minutes to burn everything off. Reinstall and try it out. Betcha it works!
